Demonstration Videos
Setting up Invacare’s G-Series beds involves several steps to ensure proper assembly and safe operation.
Here’s a step-by-step guide:
Materials Needed
- Invacare G-Series bed frame and components
- Hand control pendant
- Head and footboards
- Mattress
- Power supply
- Tools as specified in the user manual (e.g., screwdriver, wrench)
Procedure
- Unpacking and Inspection
- Carefully unpack all components and check for any damage or missing parts.
- Ensure you have all the components listed in the assembly instructions.
- Assemble the Bed Frame
- Place the bed frame in the desired location. Ensure there is enough space around the bed for assembly and operation.
- Attach the head and footboards to the frame. Typically, this involves aligning the mounting brackets on the boards with the corresponding slots on the frame and securing them with the provided bolts or screws.
- Install the Motor and Hand Control
- Locate the motor and control system. The motor assembly usually attaches to the underside of the bed frame.
- Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to secure the motor to the frame. This may involve aligning the motor with pre-drilled holes and securing it with bolts.
- Connect the hand control pendant to the motor assembly. Ensure the connection is secure.
- Attach the Bed Deck
- If the bed deck (where the mattress sits) comes in separate sections, assemble them according to the instructions.
- Secure the bed deck to the frame using the provided hardware. Make sure the deck is level and stable.
- Install Side Rails (if included)
- Position the side rails according to the instructions. Typically, they attach to the sides of the bed frame.
- Secure the side rails with the provided hardware. Ensure they can move up and down smoothly and lock in place.
- Connect the Power Supply
- Plug the power supply into the motor assembly.
- Ensure the power cord is safely routed and not a tripping hazard.
- Plug the power supply into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Test the Bed Functions
- Use the hand control pendant to test all bed functions, including raising and lowering the head, foot, and overall bed height.
- Ensure all movements are smooth and that the bed responds correctly to the hand control commands.
- Place the Mattress on the Bed
- Once the frame is fully assembled and tested, place the mattress on the bed deck.
- Ensure the mattress is properly positioned and does not obstruct any moving parts.
- Final Inspection
- Double-check all connections and hardware to ensure everything is secure.
- Verify that the bed operates smoothly and safely.
Tips
- Refer to the user manual provided by Invacare for specific instructions and diagrams.
- If you encounter any difficulties or have questions about the setup, contact Invacare customer support for assistance.
- Ensure that the bed is on a flat, stable surface to prevent any instability.
Setting up Invacare’s G-Series beds should be straightforward if you follow these steps carefully. If you need more detailed guidance, consulting the user manual or seeking professional assistance is recommended.
