Select Instructions for Medication Preparations
Home care providers will help patients understand when, how and why patients should take medications and how much patients should take. Providers can also help educate patients to take or give medication on their own.
Providers will:
– Administer medications intravenously (IV), through injections, or by pills and tablets
– Check how patients respond to the medication and check for side effects
– Create a medication schedule
– Give medication reminders and education
– Help avoid duplicate medications and skipped doses
– Review patient’s medication regimen, the list of all the prescribed and over-the-counter medicines the patient takes.
