Here are some FAQs for the ARES home sleep test:
  • Can I use the ARES if I have an oxygen feed?

Yes, you can use the device with a cannula if your doctor approves it, but you can’t use it with a mask that covers your nose or mouth.

  • Should I turn off the device if I need to get up?

No, you should leave the device on. If you turn it off for more than five minutes during the night, the report will show it as two separate nights.

  • What should I do if the device is slow to turn on?

Make sure you don’t hold down the on/off button until you hear the device speak. You should release the button immediately after pressing it.

  • How can I get the most accurate results?

You can try these tips to prepare for the test:

    • Avoid napping during the day.
    • Avoid caffeine in the afternoon.
    • Try to sleep on your back and sides. Sleeping on your back can make sleep apnea worse, and side sleeping can cause it.
    • Make sure your room is a comfortable temperature.
    • Try to get a good night’s sleep the night of the test.
The ARES home sleep test measures nine channels of data to help determine the presence and severity of obstructive sleep apnea. It can record and store respiratory events, such as apneas, hypopneas, and mixed apneas. The test also includes audio and visual indicators to let you know when the device needs adjustments.
