The ApneaLink Air is a home sleep testing device from ResMed that helps healthcare professionals diagnose sleep-disordered breathing in adults. It records up to five channels of data while the user sleeps, including: respiratory effort, pulse, oxygen saturation, nasal flow, and snoring.
- Pulls the belt around their body and threads the effort sensor’s end through the belt’s slot
- Attaches the tab to the belt, even if the effort sensor isn’t used
- Checks that the belt is comfortable and secure, and that the device is centered over the chest
- If using an oximeter, slides the clip onto the belt on the same side as the oximeter’s finger sensor
- Places the nasal cannula’s prongs facing down, loops the tubing over the ears, and tightens the toggle under the chin
- Inserts the nasal cannula’s end into the recorder, turning it clockwise
- Places the pulse oximeter on the index finger or uses a disposable sensor wrapped around the finger and secured with tape
- Attaches the pulse oximeter to the belt next to the recorder
- Presses the on/off button for two seconds to start recording
- When the central green light illuminates, the recording begins automatically
- In the morning, presses the button for three seconds to turn off the recorder
